'If there was ever a haircut that exemplified coolness, it has to be none other than the fade.' -   Princess Gabbara via Ebony.com

We all remember that haircut from Mom/Dad/Grandma in the kitchen, regardless of whether or not there was a bowl used in the process. With the availability of local Barber Shops exploding in past years, it is NO WONDER the newest generation of young men have come a long way from that kitchen stool.
This new school year is stepping it up another notch with the biggest trending haircut of the 2020 school year: THE BALD FADE. The bald fade is an evenly graduated cut, (regardless of length at the top) that slowly transitions to baldness, a zero, nothing.' - Described by Clinton Carter of Goodfellas Barber Shoppe of Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The fade itself seems to have originated in the military, althoughbeing made popular by the hip hop community. With main stream America adopting hip hop culture as the popular consensus, it is no wonder children/teens of all backgrounds are requesting fades!
Mr. Carter continues, '10 years ago I went to cut a young first time client's hair. The client was caucasian and I had worked mostly in African American barber shops. He told me to give him the cut I wanted to give him. So I proceeded to fade his hair the same way I normally would. He was very unhappy with the haircut and felt he was appropriating some other person's style of hair...Jump forward 10 years later, this same young man came to me for a haircut, showing me a picture of exactly what he wanted: A FADE!'  Speaking with multiple Barbers from GOODFELLAS BARBER SHOPPE, it becomes apparent the biggest trend for young men this school year has been the bald fade. As you can see from the photographs it has a nice, clean groomed appearance that most parents are proud for their children to walk in to school with.  Another addition requested frequently being the line created on the parietal ridge.  Mr. Carter concluded by stating that 'Great Clips, Sports Clips, salons, etc are not going to be able to achieve the look we are creating here! Barbers and Barber Shoppes are proficient in achieving this look. This is accomplished by not leaving hard lines in the fade, which our Barbers hone to a whole other skill level.'
